Description

Festive and fun Rice Krispies Treats made with red, white, and blue colors—perfect for celebrating the 4th of July with a sweet, patriotic twist.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
  2. Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Divide the melted marshmallow mixture into three equal parts in separate bowls.
  4. Add red food coloring to one bowl, blue food coloring to another, and leave the third bowl plain (white). Mix each until the color is uniform.
  5. Quickly stir 2 cups of Rice Krispies cereal into each bowl until well coated.
  6. In a greased 9×13-inch pan, press the red layer evenly on the bottom, followed by the white layer, then the blue layer on top. Use a spatula to press down each layer firmly.
  7. If desired, melt white chocolate chips and drizzle over the top, then add sprinkles.
  8. Let cool completely at room temperature before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper or greased hands to press down the layers easily.
  • Store treats in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • For a more vibrant color, use gel food coloring.
