Description
Festive and fun Rice Krispies Treats made with red, white, and blue colors—perfect for celebrating the 4th of July with a sweet, patriotic twist.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons butter
- Red food coloring
- Blue food coloring
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
- Red, white, and blue sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Divide the melted marshmallow mixture into three equal parts in separate bowls.
- Add red food coloring to one bowl, blue food coloring to another, and leave the third bowl plain (white). Mix each until the color is uniform.
- Quickly stir 2 cups of Rice Krispies cereal into each bowl until well coated.
- In a greased 9×13-inch pan, press the red layer evenly on the bottom, followed by the white layer, then the blue layer on top. Use a spatula to press down each layer firmly.
- If desired, melt white chocolate chips and drizzle over the top, then add sprinkles.
- Let cool completely at room temperature before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Use parchment paper or greased hands to press down the layers easily.
- Store treats in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- For a more vibrant color, use gel food coloring.
