Description
Tender, juicy ribs grilled to perfection with a flavorful dry rub and smoky BBQ glaze, perfect for summer cookouts or any backyard feast.
Ingredients
- 2 racks of pork baby back ribs (about 4-5 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs. Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Preheat grill to 250°F (120°C) using indirect heat (or set up a two-zone fire).
- Place ribs on the grill over indirect heat, bone-side down. Cover and cook for 2.5 to 3 hours, maintaining low heat.
- Brush ribs with BBQ sauce and grill over direct heat for an additional 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally until caramelized.
- Remove ribs from grill and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate ribs overnight with the dry rub wrapped in foil in the fridge.
- Use a smoker box or wood chips for an added smoky flavor.
- Ribs are done when the meat pulls back from the bones and is tender.
