Description

This best steak marinade recipe infuses your steak with bold, savory flavors, tenderizes the meat, and helps achieve juicy, flavorful results every time you grill or pan-sear.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 pounds steak (ribeye, sirloin, or preferred cut)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic, brown sugar, black pepper, onion powder, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Place the steak in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish.
  3. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
  5. Remove steak from marinade and let it come to room temperature before cooking.
  6. Grill or pan-sear steak to desired doneness.
  7. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Marinate steak overnight for best results.
  • Do not reuse marinade as a sauce unless it’s boiled first.
  • Adjust spice level by increasing or omitting red pepper flakes.
