Description

A simple and delicious bow tie pasta recipe with a creamy tomato sauce, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz bow tie pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juices), basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Reduce the heat and stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to combine evenly.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can add grilled chicken or shrimp for added protein.
  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Use fresh basil instead of dried for enhanced flavor.
