- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over the batter layer.
- Spread the remaining brownie batter on top, smoothing the surface.
- Drizzle additional caramel on top and use a knife to swirl it through the batter.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For cleaner cuts, chill brownies before slicing.
- You can use store-bought or homemade caramel sauce.
