Description
Cherry Yum Yum is a classic Southern dessert made with layers of graham cracker crust, creamy cheesecake filling, and sweet cherry pie topping. It’s easy to prepare and perfect for potlucks or holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until well combined. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a 9×9-inch dish.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract and beat until well combined.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
- Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the graham cracker crust.
- Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the cream cheese layer.
- Spread the remaining cream cheese mixture over the cherries.
- Top with the remaining graham cracker mixture.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
Notes
- Use full-fat cream cheese for the best texture.
- You can substitute whipped topping for homemade whipped cream if desired.
- Chill thoroughly to allow the dessert to set properly.
