Description

A rich and creamy French-style hot chocolate made with real dark chocolate for an indulgent treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz dark chocolate (70% cacao), chopped
  • 2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt


Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk and heavy cream. Heat until just simmering.
  2. Add the chopped dark chocolate and stir continuously until melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in the sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Continue heating gently, stirring until everything is well combined and hot but not boiling.
  4. Remove from heat and serve immediately in mugs.
  5. Optional: Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or a cinnamon stick for garnish.
