Description

Chocolate Ganache Truffles are rich, velvety bite-sized treats made from a simple blend of chocolate and cream, rolled into decadent balls and coated in cocoa powder, nuts, or sprinkles — perfect for gifting or indulgent snacking.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or sprinkles for coating

Instructions

  1. Place chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream over medium heat until just simmering. Do not boil.
  3. Pour hot cream over the chocolate. Let sit for 2–3 minutes, then stir gently until smooth and glossy.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, if using.
  5. Cover and refrigerate the ganache for 1–2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
  6. Using a small scoop or spoon, roll ganache into 1-inch balls. Work quickly to avoid melting.
  7. Roll truffles in your choice of coating (cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or sprinkles).
  8. Place finished truffles on a parchment-lined tray and chill until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for best flavor and texture.
  • Add a splash of liqueur (like Grand Marnier or Bailey’s) for an adult version.
  • Truffles keep well in the fridge for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container.
