A comforting, hearty classic meatloaf made with ground beef, breadcrumbs, and a flavorful glaze, perfect for a family dinner.

- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley (optional)
- For the glaze: 1/2 cup ketchup, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, 1/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, thyme, and parsley. Mix until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf on the prepared baking sheet or press into a loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, mix together the glaze ingredients: 1/2 cup ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread half of the glaze over the meatloaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes, then remove and spread the remaining glaze over the top. Return to oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Do not overmix the meat mixture to keep the loaf tender.
- You can substitute ground turkey or pork for part of the beef.
- Leftovers make great sandwiches the next day.
