Description
A rich and flavorful dish with tender chicken breasts smothered in a creamy garlic sauce, perfect for a comforting dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Cook chicken breasts in the skillet for about 6-7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add chicken broth, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, thyme, and basil. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for another 5 minutes to coat the chicken.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
- Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the sauce for extra flavor.
- Ensure the chicken is fully cooked before serving (internal temperature should be 165°F or 75°C).
