Description

A rich and spicy fusion pasta dish made with Korean gochujang chili paste, cream, and garlic for a bold and comforting flavor.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, and sauté until soft and fragrant.
  3. Add gochujang and tomato paste to the skillet, stirring for 1-2 minutes to release their flavors.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and milk, then add soy sauce and sugar. Stir to combine and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Serve hot, topped with Parmesan cheese (if using) and chopped green onions.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of gochujang depending on your spice tolerance.
  • Use plant-based cream and milk to make it vegan.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms or cooked chicken for extra protein.
