Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine crushed cookies and melted butter until the crumbs are evenly moistened.
- Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9‑inch pie pan to form the crust.
- Refrigerate crust while preparing filling.
- In a bowl, whisk the pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully combined.
- Spread the pudding mixture evenly into the chilled cookie crust.
- Sprinkle the top with coarsely chopped cookies to resemble dirt.
- Arrange gummy worms on top, partially buried in the ‘dirt.’
- Optional: sprinkle chocolate chips or candy pieces over the top.
- Chill the pie for at least 1 hour before serving to set.
- Slice and serve cold, adding extra gummy worms if desired.
Notes
- Make ahead: Prepare up to 24 hours in advance; cover and refrigerate.
- For a cleaner crust edge, use a tart pan with a removable bottom.
- Variations: Use vanilla pudding for a lighter look or peanut butter pudding for a twist.
- For added texture, fold crushed peanuts or toffee bits into the filling.
- Keep refrigerated; consume within 2–3 days for best freshness.
