This Easy Chicken Noodle Casserole is the ultimate comfort food, packed with tender chicken, hearty egg noodles, and a creamy, cheesy sauce. It’s perfect for a cozy family dinner or make-ahead meal.
Ingredients
- 12 oz egg noodles
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup frozen peas and carrots, thawed
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup crushed butter crackers or breadcrumbs (optional topping)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in cooked chicken, thawed vegetables, and 3/4 cup of the shredded cheese.
- Add cooked noodles and mix until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Top with remaining cheddar cheese.
- If using a topping, mix crushed crackers or breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the casserole.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Rotisserie chicken works great for convenience.
- Add sautéed mushrooms or celery for more texture.
- Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated until ready to bake.
