Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread, cubed
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh berries
Instructions
- Grease the inside of your crock pot with non-stick spray or butter.
- Place cubed French bread evenly in the crock pot.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread cubes, pressing down lightly to ensure all the bread is soaked.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the top.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 2.5-3 hours, until the casserole is set and the edges are slightly golden.
- Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with desired toppings like maple syrup or powdered sugar.
