Ingredients

- 1 slice of bread
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Use a round cutter or a glass to cut a hole in the center of the bread slice.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Place the bread slice in the skillet and toast one side lightly.
- Flip the bread over and crack the egg into the hole.
- Cook until the egg white is set but the yolk is still runny, about 2-3 minutes. Cover with a lid if needed.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, optionally toasting and serving the cut-out bread circle alongside.
Notes
- You can use whole grain or white bread based on preference.
- For a firmer yolk, cook longer or flip the bread to cook both sides.
- Add cheese or herbs for extra flavor.
