Description

These Grilled Steak Tacos are packed with juicy, marinated steak, fresh toppings, and served in warm tortillas for a delicious and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank or skirt steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 cup crumbled queso fresco (optional)
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour marinade over it. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, up to 4 hours.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the steak for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  5. Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  6. Warm the tortillas on the grill for 30 seconds per side.
  7. Assemble tacos by placing steak slices on tortillas and topping with onion, cilantro, avocado, and queso fresco if using.
  8. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Marinating the steak longer enhances flavor.
  • Use skirt steak for a richer beef flavor.
  • Add pickled onions or jalapeños for extra zing.
