Description

Heaven On Earth Cake is a light and luscious layered dessert made with angel food cake, creamy pudding, cherry pie filling, and whipped topping. It’s a no-bake treat perfect for parties or summer gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 (14 oz) angel food cake, cut into cubes
  • 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • Optional: sliced almonds for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth and thickened. Set aside.
  2. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread half of the cubed angel food cake in an even layer.
  3. Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the cake cubes.
  4. Spread half of the pudding mixture over the cherry layer.
  5. Repeat the layers with remaining cake cubes, cherry pie filling (reserving a bit for the top), and pudding mixture.
  6. Spread the whipped topping over the final pudding layer.
  7. Dollop or drizzle the reserved cherry pie filling on top for garnish.
  8. Sprinkle with sliced almonds if desired.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.
