Heaven On Earth Cake is a light and luscious layered dessert made with angel food cake, creamy pudding, cherry pie filling, and whipped topping. It’s a no-bake treat perfect for parties or summer gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 (14 oz) angel food cake, cut into cubes
- 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
- 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
- Optional: sliced almonds for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth and thickened. Set aside.
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread half of the cubed angel food cake in an even layer.
- Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the cake cubes.
- Spread half of the pudding mixture over the cherry layer.
- Repeat the layers with remaining cake cubes, cherry pie filling (reserving a bit for the top), and pudding mixture.
- Spread the whipped topping over the final pudding layer.
- Dollop or drizzle the reserved cherry pie filling on top for garnish.
- Sprinkle with sliced almonds if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
- You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream for a tangier flavor.
- Use any flavor of pie filling like blueberry or strawberry for variation.
- Make ahead a day in advance for best flavor.
