A rich and decadent individual chocolate cake with a gooey, molten center that’s perfect for dessert lovers.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 4 oz (115g) bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup (30g) all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- Butter and cocoa powder for greasing ramekins
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease 4 ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chocolate together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Stir in powdered sugar until well combined.
- Add eggs and egg yolks, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- Let the cakes rest for 1 minute, then carefully invert onto plates.
- Serve immediately, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
