Description

A simple and fun way to make creamy homemade ice cream using just a mason jar and a few basic ingredients. No ice cream maker required!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1.5 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Pour the heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt into a 16 oz mason jar.
  2. Tightly seal the lid and shake vigorously for about 4-5 minutes, until the mixture thickens and roughly doubles in volume.
  3. Place the jar in the freezer and let it freeze for at least 3-4 hours, or until firm.
  4. Once frozen, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping.
  5. Serve and enjoy your homemade mason jar ice cream!

Notes

  • You can add mix-ins like chocolate chips, crushed cookies, or fruit before freezing.
  • Shake longer if the cream hasn’t thickened enough.
  • Use flavored extracts to customize your ice cream flavor.
