Description

A delicious copycat recipe of P.F. Chang’s famous Chicken Lettuce Wraps, made with ground chicken, crisp veggies, and a savory Asian-inspired sauce, all served in cool, crisp lettuce cups.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha (optional)
  • 1 (8 oz) can water chestnuts, drained and diced
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 head butter lettuce or iceberg lettuce, leaves separated

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground chicken and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks.
  2. Add chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook until onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and Sriracha. Mix well to combine.
  4. Add diced water chestnuts and green onions. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Remove from heat and spoon mixture into lettuce leaves.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with additional green onions if desired.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, add shredded carrots or chopped peanuts.
  • Ground turkey or tofu can be substituted for chicken for variation.
  • Serve with extra hoisin or soy sauce on the side.
