Description
A delicious and savory dish from Panda Express, featuring tender chicken stir-fried with crisp string beans in a flavorful garlic sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 2 cups fresh string beans, trimmed
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
- 1/4 cup water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken slices and stir-fry until lightly browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
- In the same wok, add another tbsp of oil. Add the garlic and ginger and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the string beans and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender but still crisp.
- Return the chicken to the wok with the string beans.
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and water. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and beans.
- Bring to a simmer, then add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot and enjoy your Panda Express-style string bean chicken!
Notes
- For a spicier version, you can add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or onions to the dish for extra flavor and texture.
