Description

A delicious and savory dish from Panda Express, featuring tender chicken stir-fried with crisp string beans in a flavorful garlic sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups fresh string beans, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chicken slices and stir-fry until lightly browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
  3. In the same wok, add another tbsp of oil. Add the garlic and ginger and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the string beans and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender but still crisp.
  5. Return the chicken to the wok with the string beans.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and water. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and beans.
  7. Bring to a simmer, then add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy your Panda Express-style string bean chicken!

Notes

  • For a spicier version, you can add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or onions to the dish for extra flavor and texture.
  • Make sure to stir-fry on high heat to maintain the crispiness of the string beans.
