A sweet, tangy, and tender chicken dish made with just a few ingredients, perfect for easy weeknight dinners using a slow cooker.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup Coca-Cola (not diet)
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 packet onion soup mix (1 oz)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together the Coca-Cola, ketchup, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Remove the chicken and shred it with two forks if desired, then return to the sauce and stir well to coat.
- Serve hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or buns.
Notes
- Use regular Coca-Cola, not diet, for the best flavor and consistency.
- You can substitute chicken thighs for a juicier texture.
- Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
