Description

Crispy, golden-fried steak fingers made from tenderized beef strips, perfect as a comforting appetizer or main dish served with gravy or dipping sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb cube steak, cut into strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut cube steak into finger-sized strips.
  2. In a shallow bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat eggs with milk.
  4. Dip each steak strip into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture, pressing to coat well.
  5. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Fry steak fingers in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce or country gravy.
