Description

Strawberry Pretzel Salad is a delicious layered dessert made with a salty pretzel crust, a sweet cream cheese filling, and a fruity strawberry Jell-O topping with fresh strawberries.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 6 oz strawberry Jell-O
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons sugar. Press into a 9×13-inch baking dish to form a crust.
  3. Bake crust for 10 minutes, then allow to cool completely.
  4. In a bowl, beat cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping until combined.
  5. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over cooled crust. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Dissolve strawberry Jell-O in boiling water. Let cool to room temperature.
  7. Stir sliced strawberries into the Jell-O.
  8. Carefully pour Jell-O mixture over the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate until completely set, about 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese layer is sealed to prevent Jell-O from seeping into the crust.
  • Fresh strawberries provide better texture than frozen ones.
  • Chill each layer properly to maintain separation.
