Description
Strawberry Pretzel Salad is a delicious layered dessert made with a salty pretzel crust, a sweet cream cheese filling, and a fruity strawberry Jell-O topping with fresh strawberries.
Ingredients
- 2 cups crushed pretzels
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 8 oz whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
- 2 cups boiling water
- 6 oz strawberry Jell-O
- 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons sugar. Press into a 9×13-inch baking dish to form a crust.
- Bake crust for 10 minutes, then allow to cool completely.
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping until combined.
- Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over cooled crust. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Dissolve strawberry Jell-O in boiling water. Let cool to room temperature.
- Stir sliced strawberries into the Jell-O.
- Carefully pour Jell-O mixture over the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate until completely set, about 4 hours or overnight.
- Slice and serve chilled.
Notes
- Ensure the cream cheese layer is sealed to prevent Jell-O from seeping into the crust.
- Fresh strawberries provide better texture than frozen ones.
- Chill each layer properly to maintain separation.
