Description

A refreshing Southern-style beverage combining the sweetness of strawberries with the classic flavor of sweet tea. Perfect for warm days and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Fresh mint leaves and extra strawberries, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and add tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes.
  3. While tea is steeping, place sliced strawberries and sugar in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  4. Strain the strawberry puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds.
  5. Remove tea bags from the steeped tea and discard.
  6. In a large pitcher, combine the tea, strawberry puree, and 4 cups of cold water. Stir well.
  7. Refrigerate until chilled, about 1-2 hours.
  8. Serve over ice and garnish with mint leaves and sliced strawberries, if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust sugar to taste depending on the sweetness of the strawberries.
  • For a fizzy version, replace some cold water with club soda.
  • Use green tea instead of black tea for a lighter flavor.
