Description

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 1/4 cups sliced almonds
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup turbinado sugar

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • Coarse sea salt, for finishing (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: Combine oats, almonds, coconut flakes, cocoa powder, salt, and 1/3 cup sugar in a bowl.
  3. Add wet ingredients: Whisk melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla extract; pour over dry mix.
  4. Bake: Spread mixture on baking sheets and bake for 50 minutes, stirring halfway.
  5. Add chocolate chips: Sprinkle chocolate chips over hot granola and return to oven to soften.
  6. Finish: Sprinkle with sugar and sea salt; cool undisturbed for clusters.
  7. Store: Break apart once cooled and store in an airtight container.
