Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 1/4 cups sliced almonds
- 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup turbinado sugar
Wet Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup melted coconut oil
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
- Coarse sea salt, for finishing (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix dry ingredients: Combine oats, almonds, coconut flakes, cocoa powder, salt, and 1/3 cup sugar in a bowl.
- Add wet ingredients: Whisk melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla extract; pour over dry mix.
- Bake: Spread mixture on baking sheets and bake for 50 minutes, stirring halfway.
- Add chocolate chips: Sprinkle chocolate chips over hot granola and return to oven to soften.
- Finish: Sprinkle with sugar and sea salt; cool undisturbed for clusters.
- Store: Break apart once cooled and store in an airtight container.
